Crisis management - continuity plan - IOP - FDP - SIP- BCP

LEADING AND INTERVENING IN A CRISIS CELL: WHY PREPARE? WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES ?

In order to deal with all types of crisis situations, every organization must be prepared to manage complex, destabilizing, unplanned or unimagined situations.

For this, several procedures must be put in place and listed in the Emergency Plan.

The Emergency Plan: it is used to help the site to anticipate the potential crisis and to characterize through simple tools.

The emergency or crisis management plan will thus make it possible to react quickly and accurately to activate a crisis unit capable of controlling and managing a deteriorated situation requiring unusual organization and resources on the site.

As communication can be a determining element in the birth or aggravation of a crisis, PDCA ENGINEERING will draw up a guide to deal with communication needs from the first hour of the crisis until the crisis is resolved

However, is there a method?

The development of the crisis management plan is broken down into successive stages:

  • Site analysis
  • Anticipate the different crisis scenarios
  • Assessing the likelihood and severity of scenarios
  • Prioritize crisis scenarios
  • Crisis management organization
  • Crisis unit
  • Warning scheme
  • Reflex cards
  • List management
  • Training of the members of the crisis unit and awareness raising of the staff

The crisis management plan

The realization of a BCP is crucial in crisis management.

Crisis management is closely linked to BCP.

Indeed, the BCP gathers the documented procedures which will be used as guide to the company in order to enable it to answer, restore, take again and find a level of predefined operation nor following a major incident or accident.

However, the transition from the Emergency Plan (IOP) to the BCP is complex. This “gymnastics” of crisis management is not innate and often requires to be accompanied by specialists like PDCA ENGINEERING who have a field expertise (former fireman of Paris) which offers you a practical operational approach.

Le PCA est capitale dans la gestion de crise.
